#PublishingReinvented 69 - A 3 Step Holiday Book Marketing Plan with offers
The October to December period is the key sales period for books each year. As much as 50% of your annual book sales can come from this period, when readers buy books for themselves and as gifts.
The following 3 step plan will help you focus on maximizing your return during this period:
1. Prepare. This means checking your Amazon book page for how your book looks. Is the cover great, and the description, and do you have enough reader reviews? If you need reviews see our NetGalley service here. If you take a NetGalley service from us you can have a free month for any book on NetGalley for a month, at any time in the next 12 months, on us.
2. Practice. This means running multiple ad types and changing things about your Amazon book page to see what works best. With Amazon ads that could mean changing an ebook subtitle, and then changing it again after two weeks to see if the new version gets more sales. You can also test a different cover this way and a revised description. To see our Amazon ads packages click here. You will also get the above NetGalley offer if you buy this service today. The same system applies to Facebook ads and email ads and you'll get the same NetGalley offer. Practice and practice more and when you see the sales rise or fall you will know what to use as you get close to the key period to maximize royalties.
3. Promote. Once you have figured out what works best for your books you can create multiple ad types across multiple platforms. If you need help with Amazon ads, Facebook ads or email promotion see our All Services page here.
I hope the above helps. We see some great results in the holiday season. They almost always come from authors who practice the above.
You too can be among them.
