Amazon is Changing To Help Authors Sell More
Amazon remarketing is the advertising system of presenting a book you previously looked at but did not buy, on an Amazon page the next time you visit Amazon.
This system, whether we like it or not, leads to a lower cost of conversion and more readers. It’s been available on Facebook and other ad platforms for some time. It works too. And if you don’t buy after a few more views it stops showing you the ad. They need the spot for something else.
Prime Targeting Too
One other interesting way we can target with these ads is that we can now target Prime users only or Not in Prime Amazon customers. See the screengrab below:
This means if your book is in KDP Select you can target people who can read it for free, but you get paid about 2/3rd of what the ebook buyer would pay you. This will help improve our targeting for books in Select.
We can also target only non-Prime Amazon customers if you are not in Select. This is great news.
New Off-Amazon Ad Types
The way Amazon implements retargeting also means your book will follow potential readers to other sites all at a price-capped CPC.
We can also add text and your logo or series pic.
If your goal is simply to sell books, this is all good news.

The above ad types are currently available only on our Amazon ads agency dashboard, not on standard author Amazon ads dashboards. I expect they will come to author dashboards later.
