I self-published my first book on Amazon, a Historical Fiction, Coming-of-Age Novel set in the 1850s US West. It has over 1,100 reviews. I have continued the Apprentice Series with three more books in the planned seven-book series. The next book to be released is in Fall 2025.
Frank, I just reread your book description. It's an amazing story, captivating from beginning to end. I dare anyone to read it and not want to buy the book immediately.
OMG! What an accomplishment! I'd kill for any parts of those 1100 reviews! Great work Frank. Good for you, and congrats on what apparently is an awesome series :-)
I honestly need to devote more attention to this cool resource that has been faithfully landing in my inbox for YEARS when I first subscribed. I can't comment right now on what I'd want more of, until I plug back in and see what I think might be missing. I only recently reactivated my "Charm Baker" pen name (which is the email that's been getting your posts). The latest #PublishingReinvented caught my attention because I just published: How to Call it Quits and FINALLY Move On! Naturally, I need all the help I can get, promoting my "Helpful guide for relationship breakups". Now that I see what I've been missing, by not visiting my inactive email account, I'll be going back through some of your former posts. I know how much I used to enjoy them, but it's been a while. Here's the link to my newly released book: https://amzn.to/4dU6UkQ It's available free on Amazon from June 12th tho June 14th, so hopefully anyone interested won't miss out on the FREE copy. Thanks for being such a consistent resource for the online community of content creators.
Thanks Justiss! I just added this to my Kindle Unlimited Library! We are here for you. If you'd like some free advice on how to get sales going for the new book email me on: laurence@bgsadmin.com
Hello, Laurence. Starting in 2016, I published a number of books in 3 different Fantasy genres. See jackmassa.com for the list. After an extended downtime, I'm hoping to put out 2 novels in a different series (steampunk fantasy-adventure) later this year. As I got pretty burned out on marketing efforts, I would love to see a roadmap kind of approach for the best ways and tools to market my work going forward. This can include investing to have experts do some of the work. Thanks!
Jack, great to see you writing again! With marketing a huge amount depends on the product, that means feedback on story, fixing issues, an amazing cover and a wow title. No pressure, right! Email me for story feedback, cover design and title options: laurence@bgsadmin.com before these all get decided!
Now in Final Editing: So Many Ideas, So Little Time (working title)
One problem here is the lack of interest in staying in one genre. I know it's bad for commercial reasons, but it's great for creative thinking and writing enjoyment.
Michael, great reviews on those books! And I relate to that genre jumping! Email me for story feedback, cover design and other options: laurence@bgsadmin.com before these all get decided for the new book!
I'm currently working on two projects: a book of short stories that span genres and a novel about someone who is terminally ill and decides to only live one more day and then die on his terms. What happens on that day? Both should be published in the fall.
I've self-published two books. The Dead Superstar Bar is a spiritual, comedic, and nostalgic look back at the 1960s through the lens of a bar that only plays music by deceased 1960s musicians. Coincidentally, they begin showing up to perform at the bar. The second book is a horror story about people trapped in a decaying mall on Halloween Eve. Their numbers dwindle as the evening wears on. Both books were critically, if not commercially, well received. As a retiree, I'm blessed to be able to write without financial concerns.
I write a historical fantasy series of witches in the old west in the late 1800s and now the early 1900s. The first book is Fire Witch. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR1LJ3YB
I think the best thing you can do is continue to keep us updated on the latest trends in the indie market. Changes in Amazon royalties, advances in a.i Ingram Spark has made some changes, there is groups out there who do reputable book awards, and all this type of information.
My latest book is Slainte! The Athlone Job. The cover comes from your own Mirna Gilman at booksGoSocial and it is due out in August. I don't see a link here to show the cover. I would love to if possible
On my side of the court. I think free giveaway of the book 1 of our series is the best tool. Out of 100 free download expected reviews = 1. Since the word of mouth is the most effective way to make sales, FREE DOWNLOAD is best.

Congratulations. Great start for a series.

No worries. It's not a genre I usually read, but the story does sound compelling.

I've just self-published Quarry, set here in Cumbria around the end of the Neolithic age and focusing on the stone axe makers in the Langdale Valley

Fiction or Non-Fiction. Both could be of interest.
Fiction: sorry, I should have said
Good luck with this!
I’m currently working on a memoir and am supportive of more marketing promotions.
Thanks, John. Which promotions should we keep going? Your input appreciated!

Michael, that's a great hook. What can we do we in a day? I look forward to reading more about this!

Both of these sound good, Michael. Can you drop an Amazon link or two so we can all buy them?
