#PublishingReinvented 114 - Marketing Basics To Review And A Free Service
Marketing - The Basics. The First P - Product
The problem with marketing is that we can get lost in a million different sidetracks.
In marketing we have a series of items we need to address when we look to market something. These are the Ps of marketing. There used to be four. Now there are seven. Possibly eight! Depending on what college you go to!
This post is a about the first P - product - your book, and is reminder to go back to basics occasionally and consider:
Are you selling a well-written book/s, professionally edited and proofread?
Is it written in a way to help you stand out?
Are you focusing your marketing on what makes your book unique?
Is it presented wonderfully, with a beautiful cover, appealing text description, title and subtitle?
Do you have lots of reader reviews? Our best selling book last year has over 1,000 now.
Did you do a quality check on the above? See our free service for that here.
Expecting advertising to sell books with any aspect from the list above letting the book down, is a recipe for disappointment.
If shouldering the responsibility for the above is not what you want to do please do not expect much success from your advertising campaigns.
