I have been selling this book with the above lower cover of a helmet since late 2019. The only negative reviews speak about there being too much romance.
I believe my original cover appeals more to a male readership. So this test will be to see if a cover with an appeal to a female readership will help to revive flagging sales after two and a half years after launch.
I will also be changing the book description to speak more about the role of the second major character, Juliana.
What do you think?
Is it a good idea to change the target reader for a book, as expressed through the cover and description?
The good news is that I know the exact royalties each moth and will be able to tell quickly of this is working.
The big question is, will this era appeal to women readers at all! I guess I’ll find out!

I’ve read this book, which is excellent. I am a woman reader and thoroughly enjoyed reading the mix of history, romance, and the action thrills. The first cover is beautiful to me, but the new cover will definitely attract more women in my opinion. Good luck.
I can clearly see the different attraction in the cover. Beautiful work, reflecting the romance bit clearly.
Basically, if that's what the book is about, the original cover went in a different direction, so this change should be very helpful indeed in lifting reviews and getting more sales.
