#PublishingReinvented 4
The New Roaring Twenties.
This week we look ahead to a decade of change. What emerged a hundred years ago from the Spanish flu pandemic was a human race determined to enjoy life and to bring about change.
The ’20s was the Jazz age. Art deco blossomed and The Great Gatsby was published in 1925.
The next decade for us is likely to bring about a similar explosion in creativity after an intense period of lockdown.
One sign of what will come is that Amazon paid out over $300 million to KDP Select authors in 2019, and the payout is still growing. Amazon now has 150 million members in the Prime program, which authors get access to by being in Select.
This outflow of cash will attract even more authors. The stream of revenue cannot be ignored.
The payouts to many individual authors are likely to rise each year for the foreseeable future as books provide great low-cost entertainment and self-training options for every taste.
Be part of it. Get ready.
The goal of this subscription email service is to help you participate in the positive things the next decade will bring for authors.
