#PublishingReinvented 31 - New Year Anti-Resolutions + My Marketing Tip for January
Your Suggested Writing Anti-Resolutions
Resolutions were meant to be broken, right.
So how about making anti-resolutions. An anti-resolution is a resolution you vow to break.
Here are my suggestions:
Do not write what you know - instead write what you don’t know. Explore a world unknown, a feeling never felt and a plot never taken.
Do not write at a certain time every day. No, write when it suits you and at no strictly set time.
Never write a specific word count each day. No, write the words that keep tumbling and no more.
And in 2021, speak no more of trouble. See only the good. Money saved. Writing done. Family close. What more do we want?
Marketing Tip for January:
In reviewing the most successful books we promoted in 2020 one thing stood out for me, they all had Editorial Reviews.
Editorial reviews can be inserted for your book through Amazon Author Central. They appear above Reader Reviews and you can edit them.
A newspaper review is an Editorial Review. There are a variety of book review services, which deliver an Editorial Review, usually for a price, sometimes quite large.
The International Review of Books, which BooksGoSocial owns, is an Editorial Review service. To get a $50 discount on their services, use coupon code: pubre1 at the service page here.
There are also many other such services also available online.
N.B. BooksGoSocial will use our Magazine publishing skills to produce a Secret Health Library magazine in the spring. If you write a book that covers matters of health get in contact. There will be book reviews and articles. You can contribute.
Here is a summary of the free services for paying subscribers to this newsletter available now:
If you paid for this newsletter and want a 1-10 score for how your book is presented please email a link to your book to me: lob@yourasms.com and I will send it to you. But please only do this if you are open to changing things too.
Free access to all our 2020 & 2021 Dublin Writers’ Conference recorded online sessions. Simply reply if you are a paying subscriber and you will get the secret code to get access.
A $50 discount on our popular Gold & Platinum book promotion services enabled for you when you visit our website here (warning - prices going up soon.)
A free one month place on NetGalley (value $79) any time this year for all paid up subscribers. Simply email lob@yourasms.com with your receipt/transaction number for your payment with a mobi file or ePub and a link to your book on Amazon.
