#PublishingReinvented 21 - Do you Hate Marketing?
Marketing Can Be a Real Puzzle.
And the problem with puzzles is they can take a long time to solve. For the marketing puzzle this means you must:
Start with a well-written book,
In a genre where you can stand out, and not be overwhelmed with similar books,
Presented wonderfully, with a beautiful cover, appealing description, title and subtitle,
And get lots of reader reviews (our best selling books last year has over 1,000 now,)
And get someone like BooksGoSocial to do ads for it or do them yourself.
As you see, the ads are the last part of the marketing plan for your book. Doing ads without getting the other parts right is where many indie authors fall down.
Expecting advertising to sell books with any other aspect from the list above letting the book down, is a recipe for disappointment.
This is publishing reinvented.
If shouldering the responsibility for the above is not what you want to do please do not expect much success from your advertising campaigns.
