#PublishingReinvented 179: Ensure 2FA on Facebook Now + Why Some Books Sell & Others Don't
Use 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) Scams Are Growing
2FA means when you try to log on to Facebook it will send a code to your phone or ask for an authentication app code.
There are lots of SPAM/hacking messages going out claiming to be from Facebook and that if you don’t respond you will lose your Facebook page or other Facebook services.
You fill in a form that appears to be from Facebook, but it’s not, and hackers get control of your Facebook account. If you have a payment system linked to it they can get your money too.
Enable 2FA via your Account link (top right) - Settings & Privacy - Password & Security.
It’s a nightmare to lose a well established Facebook page and profile. Don’t be a victim.
Why People Buy Some Books, Not Others:
Here are the top 6 reasons why some books sell well while others don't:
1. Quality of Writing: A well-written book with engaging content and a compelling narrative/subject is more likely to attract readers.
2. Genre Popularity: Books in popular genres tend to sell better. For instance, genres like romance, mystery, and fantasy often have a large, dedicated readership.
3. Marketing and Promotion: Effective marketing strategies can significantly impact a book's sales. This includes online ads and social media promotions.
4. Cover Design and Book Title: A book's cover and title are the first things a potential reader sees. An eye-catching design and an intriguing title can make a big difference.
5. Reviews and Word of Mouth: Positive reader reviews boost a book's credibility. Our best selling titles this year have hundreds of positive reader reviews.
6. Cultural Relevance: Books that resonate with current social issues or trends can capture the public's interest more effectively.
Each of these factors can play a crucial role in a book's commercial success. Often it's a combination of elements that contribute to a book becoming a bestseller.
